The Philly Eagles Clipped Their Own Wings

Philadelphia Eagles declined President Trump's offer to honor them for their Super Bowl win & Trump's blamed again.

The Philadelphia Eagles disagree with our President because he insists they stand for our National Anthem to honor the great men and women of our Military AND the people of our country - who also pay their salaries . . . Ahem . . .

"For the more than 1,000 Philly Eagles fans who planned to also be in attendance, they are still invited to the White House for a different type of ceremony. This one will honor our great country, pay tribute to heroes who fight to protect it, and loudly and proudly play the National Anthem." (CBSSports)

While a lot of "people in the Eagles organization might be disappointed" - that's nothing compared to how disappointed the rest of us are in the Eagles over the disrespectful display of shunning the White House's invitation to be honored for their Super Bowl win and to meet the President.

Here's what I think: Frankly, I would have cancelled the event, myself. I don't need anyone rubbing it in my face because they don't like my policies or my personality or my hospitality.

You might not agree with this or that about President Trump, but he is YOUR President, like it or not. Regardless of your feelings, meeting him is still an incredible honor in itself. Just to be there in that rarified air listening to the Marine Corps Band play our National Anthem and God Bless America brings chills to my spine and tears to my eyes. It's all about Pride. Pride in one's country. Pride in one's President. Pride in one's self.

And I also wholeheartedly agree with LaVar Ball, Media Personality and father of three basketball players, when he says, “Stand for the National Anthem, or GET OUT.”

Further Ball says, “It’s their league. If you don’t want to do it, get out of their league.”

The NFL players want respect? They need to start showing it. They also need to take their Social Injustice rants to another platform where they can actually DO something about it - like right to the hoods - without disrespecting our National Anthem, our Flag and our President in the process.

We NFL fans, or former NFL fans, can and will continue to #BoycottNFL because these boys obviously still do not get our ire with them due to their disrespectful actions.

Listen up boys - WE pay YOUR salaries. We patronize YOUR sponsors.
